Environment lovers rush to save tigers in ‘Run for Tiger’

Gorakhpur. On the occasion of World Tiger Day (July 29), for the first time on Thursday, the people of Gorakshanagari ran for the ‘Run for Tiger’, taking a pledge to save the national animal ‘Tiger’. About two kilometer long race from Gautam Buddha entrance at Padleganj to the resthouse of the zoological park was flagged off by the state’s Additional Chief Conservator of Forests, Tiger Project Kamlesh Kumar. During this, the enthusiasm of the townspeople was building on seeing it.

For the first time, Gorakhpur has got the responsibility of International Tiger Conservation Seminar on World Tiger Day being celebrated on 29th July. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, film actor Randeep Hooda, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Forest and Climate Change Dr. Arun Kumar Saxena and other ministers, MPs and MLAs will participate in the program organized at Mahayogi Baba Gambhirnath Auditorium and Culture Center on Friday. On the same day, the Chief Minister will make the white tigress Geeta available for the spectators by entering the enclosure in the Shaheed Ashfaq Ullah Khan Zoological Park.
