India has got the fourth medal in the Commonwealth Games 2022. Weightlifter Bindyarani Devi won silver medal in women’s 55kg category.
Bindyarani Devi lifted a total of 202 kg (86 kg + 116 kg) for the silver medal. There was also a personal best performance of 116 kg Bindyarani Devi in clean and jerk lift.
Nigeria’s Adijat Adenike Olarinoye won the gold medal in the women’s 55 kg category at the Commonwealth Games 2022. While Fraer Morrow became the bronze medalist by finishing third.
I’m very happy to get a silver in the first time of playing CWG. Today was my life’s best performance… gold slipped out of my hand; when I was at podium, I wasn’t at the center; will do better next time.

“My next targets are national games, World Championship, Asian Games & then the 2024 Paris Olympics. I’ll do better in them,” said Bindyarani Devi Sorokhaibam on winning a silver medal in Women’s 55 Kg weightlifting. She added.
