In district Barabanki today, the office bearers and members of the Indian Journalist Association handed over a fiery six-point memorandum to His Excellency the Governor by the District Magistrate, telling you that in the memorandum it was said that
It is with immense pain that journalists who work selflessly as the fourth pillar of democracy today are feeling insecure, these days there are deadly attacks on them, which is a serious matter. Therefore, the Indian Journalist Association demands from you on the following points regarding the safety of journalists –
1:- Journalist Protection Act should be implemented soon and fake cases against journalists should be removed immediately.
2:- It is often seen that some policemen or government administration are angry with the writing of truth-based news by the journalist, therefore it is mandatory to investigate any journalist before any case is written. Should be done which should be from the magistrate level.
3:- Arms license should be issued for the safety of journalists and special counter should be arranged for this.
4:- Journalists often have to come and go far away for coverage, the toll of journalists should be waived.
5:- Press club should be constructed in district Barabanki which is very necessary.
6:- Free life insurance of minimum Rs 10 lakh should be provided to all journalists.
Whose copy was also sent to the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Director General of Police.
On this occasion, Indian Journalist Association State Secretary Rahul Tripathi, District Vice President Rakesh Srivastava, District General Secretary Danish Ansari, District Secretary Mohammad Shaheer, District District Media Incharge Ali Chand, Tehsil Vice President Mahesh Chakraborty, Mohammad Suhail Siddiqui, Abdul Khaliq etc. journalists were present.
